Overview

As Principal Project Controller, you will ensure the quality and integrity of Project Controls across projects and programmes within Leonardo’s Integrated Project Team. You will drive schedule quality, apply schedule risk analysis, and support bid-phase activities to enable smooth transition to execution. You will manage subcontractor schedules, perform scenario planning, and push continuous improvements in project controls metrics. You will coach others and lead project control inputs in IPT reviews, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, on-time outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality and integrity of Project Controls across projects/programmes via consistent processes and governance
  • Drive optimal schedule quality and apply schedule risk analysis across project lifecycle
  • Provide controls support for bid phase activities to manage risks and enable transition to execution
  • Manage integrity of Partner/Subcontractor schedules and clearly identify dependencies
  • Conduct what-if scenario planning to drive decision-making and risk mitigation
  • Identify and manage schedule risks; apply risk analysis techniques and implement mitigation actions
  • Ensure EV and other project controls metrics are applied and acted upon to meet standards
  • Coach and train other Project Controls team members
  • Contribute to IPT and Business area project reviews with controls inputs
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within function and business area
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to influence project activities

Key requirements

  • Comprehensive Project Controls/Planning experience with expertise in planning, controls, and project management methodologies (incl AGILE)
  • Expert user in Planning/ERP tools (Primavera P6 and/or SAP)
  • Experience across initiation, planning, and execution phases of the lifecycle
  • Strong collaboration, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Application of Schedule Risk Analysis methods and recommendations for management
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders up to SVP level
  • Ability to work independently and escalate appropriately
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring or team leadership
