Overview

In this role you will support Costain’s Living Water Enterprise delivery of strategic water infrastructure upgrades. You will work across the project lifecycle on sites, coordinating with design, delivery, and operations teams to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule targets. The position focuses on enabling successful, safe handover of multiple schemes within the 1–10m wave, including STW upgrades and storm overflow works. You will contribute to robust project planning, site records, and stakeholder collaboration to drive performance and value for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support production and implementation of project plans, RAMs, ITPs and waste management
  • Maintain robust site records (diaries, allocation sheets, etc.)
  • Ensure supply chain compliance with the framework management plan
  • Support safety culture and strive for Zero LTI and RIDDOR incidents
  • Maintain a commercial focus with challenge on scope and delivery strategies
  • Ensure suitably competent resources in collaboration with Senior Engineer/Agent
  • Provide consistent reporting of SHE metrics, progress, cost, and change
  • Identify and mitigate key project risks early
  • Work with site teams, client team, framework team, suppliers and Costain groups

Key requirements

  • Project experience on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Experience delivering projects (or packages) safely to quality, time and budget
  • Experience with NEC forms of contract
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across sites, client, and partners
  • Computer competence (Microsoft tools, document control system, Primavera)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • SMSTS qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • MEICA interfaces and/or water environment experience (beneficial)
