Project Cost Analyst

Overview

In this role, you will support programme delivery in a multi-layered defence/space program, focusing on cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure program financial health and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with project teams to monitor costs, analyze variances, and inform decision-making with forward-looking analytics. The position offers exposure to Earned Value Management and government contracting environments within a mission-driven organisation driving secure space capabilities for national security.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Cost Control Systems
• Perform analysis and prepare reports aligned to contractual outputs
• Monitor costs and cost composition against parameters and government cost principles
• Establish budgets for contracted work activities
• Conduct financial analysis of cost projections and baselines, reporting variances and trends
• Prepare programme plans to ensure statements of work are effectively planned
• Perform risk analysis to identify programme cost risks and issues
• Incorporate contractual changes into work systems to maintain accurate cost and sales baselines, forecasts, and analysis
• Ensure costs are allocated in line with established processes and controls
