Overview
As a Section Engineer on a major UK power infrastructure project, you ensure precise setting out and engineering control to support on-site delivery. You’ll work within a civil engineering team to coordinate multi-front works and maintain project standards. You help manage technical reporting, QA, and safety, contributing to essential upgrades that shape the country’s energy future. This role offers hands-on site exposure, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to impact large-scale infrastructure delivery.

Responsibilities
- Support safe and successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works
- Perform setting out and engineering control across multiple fronts
- Coordinate site engineering activities and provide technical support to construction teams
- Ensure QA processes, inspections, and documentation meet standards
- Produce and manage engineering reports and digital records
- Support work packages including earthworks, drainage, structures, piling, roads and substation infrastructure
- Collaborate with senior team members to meet delivery targets
- Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance on site
Key requirements
- Prior experience as a Site Engineer, Section Engineer or similar
- Proficiency in setting out and engineering control
- Background in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways, or major construction projects
- Valid CSCS Card
- Recognised qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to pass a DBS check
