Network Engineer – Central London, Hybrid – 60,000

Overview

In this role you will design, implement and support secure, resilient network environments with a core focus on Fortinet technologies. You will work within the network infrastructure team to ensure uptime, performance and security across LAN/WAN, VPNs and firewalls. You’ll resolve complex incidents, perform upgrades and contribute to design and documentation efforts. This position offers hands-on Fortinet work in a hybrid London setting, contributing to secure, scalable connectivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet security and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls and Fortinet security solutions
• Manage firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, routing and security rules
• Support LAN/WAN, switching, routing and network security infrastructure
• Monitor network performance, availability and security
• Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and outages
• Perform network changes, upgrades and security improvements
• Assist with network design, documentation and infrastructure projects
• Ensure network environments meet security and operational standards

Key requirements

• Strong commercial experience as a Network Engineer
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet / FortiGate environments
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, NAT and network security
• Experience troubleshooting complex network issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
