Engineer (Civil)

Overview

In this role you will support the delivery of civil, transportation and infrastructure design projects within SYSTRA’s multidisciplinary teams. You will work on outline and detailed designs, coordinate with other disciplines and external engineers, and ensure safe, compliant project execution within budget and schedule. You’ll report progress to senior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and professional development. This position offers the chance to shape multi-disciplinary outcomes in mobility infrastructure and work within a collaborative, excellence-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outline and detailed design for multi- or single-disciplinary projects
• Follow and check procedures throughout project delivery
• Interface with other disciplines and external engineers for integrated design
• Report updates to senior engineers and project management on progress
• Apply safety procedures throughout the design lifecycle
• Contribute to company-wide goals and business improvement
• Pursue continued professional development with support from SYSTRA
• Demonstrate behaviours aligned with SYSTRA’s framework to foster collaboration and excellence

Key requirements

• Good knowledge of own discipline and awareness of other interfacing disciplines
• Experience as a design engineer with deliverables within a work package/project
• Producing quality deliverables in line with standards and best practice
• Awareness of commercial and contract conditions related to budgets/timescales
• Proficient in relevant computer analysis programmes
• Knowledge of Eurocodes
• Previous site experience
• Working towards ICE or IStructE accreditation
