About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the council’s Information Governance team in a key role supporting the disclosure of council records to support police investigations, as well as subject access requests made under data protection legislation.

The council receives around 600 requests for disclosure of records, which are often social care recordscontaining information connected to abuse, safeguarding and child protection. It is critical that we process these records accurately and in accordance with data protection legislation and agreed processes. The disclosures to the police can support criminal investigations and prosecutions whilst subject access responses can help our customers understand their life story, how and why the council made its decisions or simply what information we hold.

For more information or to chat about this opportunity please contact Matthew Smith, matthew.smith@cambridgeshire.gov.ukor Matthew Wells,matthew.wells@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

  • Has excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to work confidently with sensitive information.
