Waking Night Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Maylandsea, EssexSalary: £30,888 per annum (inclusive of allowances)Hours: 4 on, 4 off – 9:00pm – 8:00am
Are you a calm, caring, and dependable professional who finds purpose in helping others? We’re looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a children’s residential home in Maylandsea, Essex.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in providing safety, comfort, and reassurance to children and young people aged 8-17 throughout the night — supporting their emotional wellbeing and ensuring a secure, nurturing environment.
About the Role:
- Monitoring and supporting young people during night hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Providing a calm, caring presence and responding appropriately to any incidents or emotional needs.
- Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
- Carrying out light household duties and preparing the home for the following day.
- Working closely with day staff to ensure consistent and high-quality care.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
