HGV Technician

We are representing a well-established commercial vehicle dealership in Preston that is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their team on a brand new evening shift. Key duties:

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and accurately
• Complete job cards and all associated documentation professionally
• Adhere strictly to Health & Safety procedures and DVSA standards
• Support workshop operations on a rota basis, ensuring continuous productivity
• Work across a range of heavy goods vehicles with a focus on safety, quality, and modern diagnostic systems

Requirements:

• Fully qualified HGV Technician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Proven experience in HGV maintenance and repair within a commercial workshop environment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adhere to safety standards
• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence is advantageous
• Computer literate with a flexible approach to shift work
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude
