Product Controller

Overview

You will act as the principal liaison to Front Office traders for daily P&L reporting across the derivatives desks, ensuring accurate financial control and reporting. In this role you contribute to P&L attribution, IPV processes, and month-end close while supporting a broader finance transformation agenda. You will work in a cross-functional finance team to strengthen the control environment and drive improvements in reporting and processes. This position offers exposure to complex trading products and a clear impact on financial integrity and performance. The role blends hands-on reporting with involvement in bank-wide initiatives that shape the controls landscape.

Responsibilities

• Daily P&L reporting for derivatives (IRS, CCS, RPI) across all desks
• Sign-off coordination with relevant desks on P&L, XVA and remote-booked PnL
• Enhance PnL attribution and IPV reporting
• Own and improve IPV process and reporting
• Root-cause analysis to resolve issues in core activity
• Weekly DP Ltd (guarantee entity) reporting
• Enhance control framework and drive process changes
• Post GL journal entries for daily and month-end close; cash breaks clearance
• Balance sheet substantiation and accurate balance classification on P&L and GL
• Ensure revenues balance with management and daily revenue reports
• Assist with month/quarter close processes and related reporting
• Provide P&L commentary for derivatives business
• Develop SME to support bank-wide transformation initiatives

Key requirements

• Advanced knowledge of the securities business
• Understanding of trade date vs value date accounting; IFRS/JGAAP differences is a plus
• Ability to map end-to-end operating models and accounting processes
• Controls-first mindset; integrity of core financials and control environment focus
• Knowledge of CVA, DVA, and FVA and factors influencing daily valuation
• High-level Excel skills (macros, pivots, data manipulation)
• Experience in coordinating and coaching team members; proactive issue resolution
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to varied audiences
