Overview

In this Senior Associate role, you join Clifford Chance’s global Private Equity group in London to work on high-profile, market-leading PE mandates. You will lead workstreams on large transactions, draft and negotiate documents, and advise multinational clients across the deal lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with cross-border teams, contribute to business development and thought leadership, and deepen client relationships. The role offers exposure to complex, high-value matters and opportunities to shape strategy for top sponsors and portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage key workstreams on large PE transactions; potentially run smaller deals.
  • Draft clear, concise legal documents and provide commercial, practical solutions for multinational clients.
  • Develop client relationships and engage in business development and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to complex, high-value matters highlighted in press, with increasing client contact.
  • Build a multi-disciplinary skill set and collaborate with leading market players across practice areas.

Key requirements

  • Strong, extensive Private Equity transactional experience as a Senior Associate, likely from a City firm or reputable overseas common law practice.
  • Outstanding academic history and proven legal skills with a track record of commercial solutions for clients.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities with high commercial awareness.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-standard, client-focused team and work with multi-jurisdictional teams.
