As Senior Business Development Manager for Land, Air, Joint & Space, you drive sustainable, profitable growth across multi-domain markets. You’ll shape and secure strategic opportunities with defence and government customers, building a robust pipeline and leading capture efforts. The role sits in the Future Business team, collaborating across functions to deliver differentiated, value-led solutions. This is a highly autonomous position that impacts long-term success and strategic positioning for BMT.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a high-quality pipeline of opportunities
- Identify, shape and secure strategic opportunities with defence and government stakeholders
- Lead capture activities for high-value pursuits across cross-functional teams
- Provide strategic guidance on opportunity qualification, market positioning and investment priorities
- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Programmes and Capability teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Build trusted relationships with senior customers, partners and stakeholders
- Assess opportunity viability, strategic fit, risk, pricing and long-term value
- Represent BMT in complex, multi-domain environments to support growth
Key requirements
- Proven track record of growth through strategic market development and opportunity capture
- Experience building and managing high-quality pipelines and securing new business
- Ability to lead capture activities and develop win strategies in defence/government contexts
- Strong commercial judgement and strategic thinking to assess viability and value
- Experience working across matrix organisations with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Background in defence, government, consulting or adjacent markets; knowledge of capture methodologies is advantageous
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain DV clearance
- Excellent communicator and influencer
