Responsibilities
- Define and champion the programme vision aligned with client objectives and investment strategy
- Lead delivery of major capital programmes across full lifecycle from business case to benefits realisation
- Provide visible, credible leadership across multi-disciplinary teams to foster high performance
- Establish governance and control frameworks ensuring transparency and accountability
- Engage senior stakeholders (C-suite, Boards, investors) to secure alignment and navigate governance
- Oversee commercial performance, forecasting, reporting, and investment controls
- Lead health & safety risk management and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Design governance and assurance frameworks for effective oversight and decision-making
- Drive business development and client partnerships to support growth and market expansion
- Foster inclusive, collaborative culture and develop internal and client-facing talent
Key requirements
- Proven experience delivering 250-500m+ transformation/real estate programmes with tangible client outcomes
- Strong ability to prioritise and optimise complex programmes across lifecycle
- Progression from project delivery to programme leadership in a construction environment
- Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams including management, controls, technical and commercial
- Solid understanding of construction delivery models, procurement routes, and contracts (NEC, JCT)
- Expertise in project controls (schedule, cost, risk) at project and programme level
- Experience working with C-suite and presenting data to influence decisions
- Tier 1 supply chain management experience
- Stakeholder engagement skills with third parties and customers
- Expert practitioner of industry best practice programme management, preferably in real estate
- Health and safety leadership with CDM and Building Safety Act knowledge
- People management and talent development
- Awareness of digital tools/strategy, including AI
- Degree/postgraduate/equivalent in a technical field (engineering, construction management, QS, MBA)
