IT Infrastructure Security Engineer

Overview

In this role you will modernise our infrastructure, strengthen security, and deliver technical change across a Microsoft environment. You work within a small, collaborative tech team with autonomy to shape best practices and make a measurable impact. The role blends infrastructure and security work, driving projects that boost resilience, performance, and cyber security. This is a hands-on, project-focused opportunity with exposure to modern Microsoft technologies and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure implementation and improvement projects
• Manage and enhance Microsoft Azure and on-premise infrastructure
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualised environments
• Drive server lifecycle management and platform optimisation
• Deliver security improvements including AD reviews and Group Policy hardening
• Support Cyber Essentials compliance and embed security best practice
• Identify opportunities to optimise Azure consumption and reduce cloud costs
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and follow ITIL-aligned processes
• Support occasional out-of-hours releases and participate in a future on-call rota
