Overview
In this role you will handle a varied contentious construction caseload within a top Real Estate team, advising on disputes and risk management for developers, contractors and insurers. You will collaborate across Real Estate, Planning and Corporate groups, contribute to business development and mentoring, and support hybrid working in Bristol. You will shape dispute strategies from adjudication to arbitration and guide clients through high-value issues with a focus on practical, commercially minded solutions. Responsibilities
- Advise on adjudication, arbitration, litigation and dispute avoidance strategies
- Represent developers, contractors, consultants and insurers across commercial/public sectors
- Draft pleadings, witness statements and correspondence in contentious matters
- Provide strategic advice on contract interpretation and project risk
- Collaborate with Real Estate, Planning and Corporate teams
- Support business development and contribute to thought leadership
- Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team growth
Key requirements
- 4+ years PQE in contentious construction law
- Strong experience in adjudication, litigation and ADR
- Excellent drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills
- Confidence in client-facing work and relationship building
- Proactive, commercial mindset and collaborative approach
