Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will deliver high-quality 3D models, 2D drawings, and design-for-manufacture outputs for defence-focused projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements while maintaining rigorous documentation and data integrity. The role supports senior engineers and adapts to evolving project needs, contributing to Quest Global’s mission to innovate for Fortune 500 customers. This is an opportunity to apply core mechanical principles within a regulated domain and drive reliable engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models and detailed 2D drawings ensuring quality and schedule adherence
  • Produce design-for-manufacture documentation, material inputs, and drawing packages
  • Maintain and update engineering documentation and data in controlled databases
  • Identify and resolve design inconsistencies across records to prevent delays
  • Support senior engineers with routine design tasks, including basic calculations and compliance checks
  • Communicate design intent with cross-functional teams and coordinate dependencies
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and manage workload with stakeholders informed

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven ability to create and interpret 3D CAD models and 2D drawings (layout, detailing, design definition)
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in modelling and data handling
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn engineering databases and digital tools
  • Ability to follow established engineering processes and maintain high documentation standards
  • Strong analytical thinking and self-organisation to manage workload against project schedules
