Overview

In this role you will shape and deliver complex commercial programmes within PA’s Public Services practice, partnering with clients to drive tangible outcomes for government bodies and related entities. You will work alongside a collaborative, knowledge-sharing community to evolve commercial offerings and tackle cross-cutting policy and operational challenges. This position offers exposure to large-scale procurements and innovative tech-enabled deals in the public sector, with opportunities to influence strategy and practice growth. Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of complex commercial programmes
  • Shape, lead and deliver large-scale procurements and commercial strategies across UK central government and arm’s‑length bodies
  • Provide insight and structure across commercial, contractual, sourcing and supplier-management activities
  • Help clients solve problems spanning commercial, operational and policy boundaries
  • Contribute to go-to-market activity and evolve PS commercial offerings in line with client demand
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful procurement outcomes
  • Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues within the practice

Key requirements

  • Consulting background delivering public-sector complex transactions under UK procurement regs
  • Ability to act as commercial business partner, not just procurement lead
  • Tech-centric deal experience: outsourcing, platforms/ERP, telecoms/emergency comms, or similar novel tech procurements
  • End-to-end commercial lifecycle experience: business case shaping, ITT and market engagement, evaluation design, negotiation, contract award, mobilisation
  • Numeracy and value-for-money judgement: designing evaluations, quantifying ROI, structuring supplier performance regimes
  • Strong stakeholder management with senior client and supplier counterparts
