Overview

In this role you will lead engineering craft teams and contractors to ensure reliable, safe and compliant maintenance for manufacturing operations. You will plan and execute preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and drive continuous improvement across equipment and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and support site services, safety, and performance goals. Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering craft teams and contractors to deliver safe and efficient maintenance activities
  • Develop and coordinate planned preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, statutory, and process safety requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment and process faults to minimise downtime
  • Allocate engineering resources, materials, and contract labour to meet operational needs
  • Monitor maintenance performance, quality standards, and budget expenditure
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, equipment, and processes
  • Support manufacturing improvement projects and works development plans
  • Develop and deliver training to engineering and operational teams
  • Manage equipment performance, including spare parts and material availability
  • Conduct risk assessments and support Management of Change processes

Key requirements

  • Sound practical engineering knowledge with relevant industry experience
  • Qualified craftsperson (typically HNC level) or degree-qualified engineer
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environment
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate engineering personnel and contractors
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and safe systems of work
  • Proven ability to lead the safe execution of engineering maintenance and repair activities
