As Solicitor or FCILEX in Inheritance & Trust Disputes, you play a pivotal role in managing high-value contentious private client matters from Exeter. You will work with a respected regional team, handling a mix of claims and disputes while supporting junior colleagues and contributing to business development. Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of contentious trusts and probate matters
  • Advise on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
  • Handle disputes over validity of wills and estate administration
  • Address breach of trust and trust administration issues
  • Manage capacity and undue influence claims
  • Oversee disputes involving cohabiting or separating unmarried couples and draft cohabitation agreements
  • Support junior team members and contribute to business development
  • Provide strategic client advisory and case progression plans

Key requirements

  • 5+ years PQE in contentious trusts and probate (or strong litigation with a view to specialising)
  • Excellent technical, drafting, and analytical skills
