Overview

As Product Manager for the Customer and Accounts platforms, you own the cross-platform roadmap and API contracts, shaping how customer data and accounts are created, matched, and managed. You partner with engineering squads and business stakeholders to define requirements, guard platform integrity, and steer migration from legacy systems. You will enable reliable, scalable platform behavior across Vault Core-driven flows and ensure clear, stable contracts for consuming systems. This role offers the chance to influence core banking capabilities at scale, balancing reliability with new capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own a unified roadmap for Customer and Accounts platforms across franchises and Core Banking commitments
  • Define platform behavior: de-duplication, golden record, data maintenance, and downstream consequences
  • Own API surface: definition, versioning, and documentation for stable contracts
  • Translate needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria and success metrics
  • Lead cross-functional discovery and prioritisation with squads, operations, finance, data, compliance
  • Plan migration and decommissioning of legacy infrastructure, including data reconciliation
  • Ensure regulatory and data protection controls from the outset
  • Collaborate with engineers and non-technical stakeholders to communicate decisions clearly
  • Evaluate trade-offs between configuration, new platform capability, or changes in consuming systems
  • Own platform integrity under delivery pressure and escalate unresolved design decisions

Key requirements

  • Strong product management experience across lifecycle (discovery to live running)
  • Experience with platform/API-first or infrastructure products for engineering users
  • Ability to define detailed engineering requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Comfort operating in a technically complex, regulated environment
  • Ability to balance franchise urgency with scalable foundations
  • Experience in financial services, ideally core banking, accounts, lending or customer data
  • Data-driven decision-making and ability to interrogate system output
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with engineers and senior stakeholders
  • Agile practices and fluency in Jira and Confluence
  • Precision and intellectual honesty, able to challenge designs and acknowledge unknowns
