Overview
In this role you will design and implement embedded software for Siemens’ power system protection devices, contributing to reliable and robust firmware. You will work within a multidisciplinary team on product features, verification, and documentation to meet strict performance and reliability requirements. The position sits in a global R&D context, collaborating with colleagues across borders to advance critical infrastructure. You will shape the software that powers smart protection devices, with a clear impact on mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software in C/C++
- Implement new product features and enhancements
- Investigate and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests
- Participate in code reviews and drive software quality improvements
- Produce and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, test, and product management throughout the lifecycle
- Follow development processes, coding standards, and quality procedures
- Provide production and post-production support
Key requirements
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Experience in embedded software development using C/C++
- Understanding of microcontrollers and embedded systems architecture
- Knowledge of software design principles and version control systems
- Experience developing Linux OS in embedded environments with kernel and bootloader customization (U-Boot)
