Overview

In this role within the FC Chief Data and Analytics Office, you will manage data products, processes and applications on Compliance/FC Data Lakes and Cloud Environments to enhance crime-detection datasets and insights. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape data assets, models and governance that support FC analysts, investigators and data scientists. You will drive adoption of analytics practices, define problems with stakeholders, and track progress through the delivery lifecycle. This position offers impact across data, security and regulatory domains in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use SQL and Python on Hadoop and GCP to perform analysis across diverse datasets to inform business and technical decisions
  • Ensure traceability of requirements and solution design across functional and non-functional aspects
  • Create analyses of data-driven product functionality and guide learner progression within the team
  • Drive adoption of analytics practices across the Data Analyst community
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers and senior staff to define problems, questions and requirements
  • Assess change impact, dependencies, feasibility, scope and outputs for proposed requirements
  • Provide domain expertise to support design development and interface with data/technical specialists
  • Support design forums (e.g., Design Authorities) and ensure issues are addressed
  • Track delivery progress against requirements and collaborate with Product Owner on roadmap, epics, user stories and backlog
  • Define and track product metrics and KPIs; support Agile team performance and outcomes
  • Contribute to end-to-end delivery lifecycle from user requirements to live solution
  • Maintain strong communication to coordinate with stakeholders and manage time effectively
  • Influence senior leadership and stakeholders for design and project decisions
  • Promote an inclusive, diverse, accessible work environment

Key requirements

  • Experience analyzing large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights
  • Experience with Hadoop and/or Cloud technologies (ideally GCP)
  • Fluency in SQL for data analysis with advanced query design
  • Python or other scripting language expertise (learning Python is a requirement)
  • Familiarity with financial services and common customer products
  • Knowledge of data security, privacy and multi-jurisdiction access considerations
  • Experience in financial crime domain is desirable
  • Ability to understand complex problems and design data-driven solutions within business/technical constraints
  • Broad understanding of design projects and relevant tools for an Agile team
  • Experience delivering projects through complete lifecycle with measurable improvements
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
