Overview
As Contracts Manager, you will provide contractual and commercial leadership across a diverse project portfolio. You will guide contract review, advise stakeholders, and promote best-practice management while minimising risk. You’ll collaborate with the Head of Contracts to lead a contracts team and strengthen client-supplier relationships. The role supports Wood’s energy and materials projects, including governance of contract terms and strategies for successful delivery. This is a remote UK opportunity offering meaningful work in a global engineering and advisory context.

Responsibilities
- Lead contract management activities within your portfolio to influence commercial decisions
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and framework agreements to minimise risk
- Advise stakeholders on contractual matters and ensure governance across projects
- Support delivery of commercial objectives and manage contract-related deliverables (bonds, insurance, etc.)
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams, clients, and suppliers
- Provide input to tenders, proposals, and handovers to execution teams
- Mentor and develop contract professionals within the team
- Promote continuous improvement and innovative contracting approaches
- Represent Wood in industry initiatives and contribute to contracting policy development
Key requirements
- Proven track record in contract review, drafting, and negotiation within a service environment
- Experience with JV, MOU, bidding, and consortium agreements
- Expert knowledge of contract terms, policies, and contracting governance
- Understanding of client contract structures and project procedures
- Experience with engineering and construction contracts in relevant sectors (life sciences, mining, power, infrastructure, oil & gas, EPC/ECm)
- Line management experience
- Awareness of Company Finance and HR systems
- Client-facing contracting experience
