Overview

As a Data Quality Business Partner within AXIS, you will help modernise the data landscape by ensuring data integrity and usability across the organisation. You will work closely with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance to translate needs into quality rules and governance. The role supports the Data & Analytics Transformation programme, embedding data quality practices into operations and strategic decision‑making. This is an opportunity to influence cross‑functional data workflows in a collaborative, inclusive culture with a strong focus on risk‑aware, data‑driven outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data quality needs and act as a liaison between business units and the data quality team.
  • Translate business requirements into data quality rules and validation checks.
  • Work with data stewards, analysts, engineers, and governance teams to align on data quality goals.
  • Assist in workshops and training to raise awareness of data quality issues.
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects by supporting data quality activities and applying established practices.
  • Monitor and assess data quality across core insurance systems (policy, claims, underwriting, exposure management, pricing).
  • Prepare dashboards and reports to track data quality performance.
  • Identify data anomalies, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the application of data quality standards in operational processes and data pipelines.
  • Participate in regular reviews to refine processes based on data insights and ensure data quality considerations in system upgrades or migrations.
  • Design and test new systems and data pipelines following detailed guidance.

Key requirements

  • Experience in data quality, data analysis, or data governance within the insurance sector.
  • Understanding of insurance operations and data flows (policy lifecycle, claims processing).
  • Working knowledge in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with data quality and data governance tools and frameworks (DQPro, Soda, DDW).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and willingness to learn and solve problems.
