Overview

In this role you will lead and advise on real estate and clean energy matters for a major national practice. You’ll handle leases, due diligence, and financing for renewables projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position emphasizes client relationship management, business development, and mentoring junior lawyers. You will help grow the future energy practice while delivering strategic, commercially focused guidance. This is a colocated, high-impact opportunity in a collaborative, growth-driven firm culture.

Responsibilities

  • Draft option agreements and leases for wind, solar, battery storage, EV, hydro and other renewable energy schemes
  • Conduct due diligence including title review, enquiries and searches
  • Assist in financing of clean energy projects and large-scale acquisitions/disposals
  • Collaborate with corporate, banking, construction, planning and regulatory teams
  • Manage own caseload with early responsibility and client contact
  • Support wider real estate work including landlord & tenant, corporate support and public sector matters
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify business development opportunities
  • Contribute to team’s financial performance and strategic growth

Key requirements

  • 6+ years’ PQE in Real Estate
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Experience advising in future energy or renewables sector
  • Track record in business development and client relationship management
  • Experience supervising Associates and/or Paralegals
  • Excellent communication skills with clients at all levels
  • Strategic, commercially focused advisory capability
