Senior Software Engineer – Front-End

Overview

You will own end-to-end frontend feature development for Speechmatics’ user platform, shaping UX from ideation to post-launch iteration. In this senior role, you’ll build polished interfaces with React and collaborate closely with designers and PMs to move fast based on user feedback and analytics. You’ll design experiments (A/B tests) and leverage data to refine UX, while partnering with backend engineers to ship impactful features. The role offers hands-on ownership of quality, accessibility, and production-grade frontend code in a hybrid, collaborative environment. Responsibilities

• Own product features from ideation through delivery, contributing to UX thinking and frontend execution
• Build accessible user interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Make UX/UI decisions independently while collaborating with designers and PMs
• Design and run A/B tests to validate product decisions and surface UX insights
• Use analytics tools (eg Mixpanel) to learn how users interact and feed findings back into development
• Partner with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to ship impactful features
• Write and maintain robust UI tests to ensure quality at production scale
• Run user interviews to understand how customers use the product and drive adoption

Key requirements

• Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with a track record of shipping production-quality frontend code
• Product-minded engineering approach
• Comfort owning UX/UI decisions independently
• Hands-on experience with iterative development, including A/B testing and feature experimentation
• Familiarity with user analytics tools such as Mixpanel
• Experience with UI testing frameworks and frontend engineering best practices
• Confidence collaborating cross-functionally with designers, PMs, and backend engineers
