Overview

As a Software Engineer III in the Global Banking Platform, you help design and deliver scalable, secure banking tech at global scale. You work within GBP to build trusted, market-leading products using cloud-native microservices and CI/CD practices. You will pair with a fintech partner during a secondment, then apply gained knowledge back at JPMC to support cloud journeys. You contribute to architecture, testing, and deployment while driving improvements and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable microservices with best practices
  • Write secure, high-quality code and automated tests
  • Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications
  • Identify hidden problems to improve code quality and system design
  • Manage and troubleshoot deployments from test to production
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to align features
  • Translate product requirements into actionable tickets
  • Contribute to communities of practice and emerging technologies
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and secure standards
  • Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to automate and improve value of automation

Key requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering
  • Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in Go, Python and/or Java
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform
  • Experience in automated testing within the development cycle
  • Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies including CI/CD, resiliency, and security
  • Experience with cloud providers
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows
  • Collaborative and cross-functional teamwork
