Overview
In this role you lead the PCA manufacturing engineering efforts, driving seamless product introductions and operation excellence. You’ll oversee BOMs, routings, cost simulations, and SOPs while mentoring teams and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver quality, safety, and cost efficiency. The role is pivotal to advancing Eastbourne’s PCA production and broader facility as a world-class operation. You will shape processes, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives with a clear impact on product readiness and production performance.

Responsibilities
- Lead PCA manufacturing engineering activities for new products and changes
- Develop and maintain BOMs and routings in SAP, reflect accurate assembly times
- Create, publish, and update SOPs and training materials
- Plan and execute prototype builds and pre-production for NPI
- Manage engineering change control within the PCA zone
- Lead PFMEA/DFMEA activities and support risk mitigation
- Support CAPEX proposals and ensure alignment with strategy
- Drive continuous improvement and benchmark best practices in PCB assembly
- Mentor personnel, ensure safety, quality, and compliance
- Coordinate handover of new products to operations and ensure KPI delivery
- Participate in 8D problem-solving and cross-functional projects
- Ensure TPM activities are tracked and adjusted when needed
- Support cross-functional teams to achieve integrity of production lines
- Contribute to project meetings and provide engineering inputs
- Maintain safe and compliant operation per ISO 45001:2018
Key requirements
- Bachelor-level engineering degree or demonstrable experience in PCA operations
- At least 3 years supporting PCA operations
- At least 3 years in an NPI role with design for manufacturing in electronics
- Solid PFMEA/DFMEA knowledge for electronics assembly (PCB SMT and through-hole)
- Strong Lean Manufacturing understanding
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a small company environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
- Desirable: in-circuit testing knowledge, Lean Six Sigma belt
