Overview
As a Controls Engineer you will develop control and visualization software for Clevedon PC products, adhering to software specifications and documentation practices. You will review requirements, contribute to design and test docs, and support software release material and installation manuals. The role involves collaboration with the Lead Controls Engineer, site visits as needed, and maintaining software configuration discipline. This hybrid Bristol-based position offers learning, accountability, and a clear impact on product software development.

Responsibilities
- Write control and visualization software per functional specs
- Follow software development procedures and produce design/test documentation
- Review specifications and provide feedback
- Follow safe test procedures and risk assessments
- Plan daily actions and report progress
- Contribute software plans to overall project plan
- Create release/installation documentation and manuals content
- Provide technical content for build notes and service instructions
Key requirements
- HND or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline
- 3 years in controls and software within relevant industries
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Occasional customer site visits may be necessary
- PLC programming – ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, data structures
- HMI programming using VB.net or other high level languages
- Communications protocols – Modbus TCP, EtherCAT
- Administration of software configuration control tools, version numbering, release process and archiving
- Understanding of P&ID diagrams and electrical schematics
