Senior Data Business Analyst

Overview

As a Senior Data Business Analyst, you will bridge business needs and technical delivery within the client value stream and enterprise data team. You’ll lead analysis projects that generate business impact from client data, shaping data features, pipelines, and governance. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into agile data solutions and ensure alignment with the firm’s data strategy. Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional analysis projects translating business goals into technical features and data models
• Collaborate with product owners to define user stories, data pipelines, and designs
• Evaluate trade-offs and recommend data solutions aligned with strategy
• Represent client data needs across value stream and data governance initiatives
• Communicate goals and updates clearly to stakeholders at all levels
• Conduct data analysis to inform decisions, improve data quality, and resolve issues using SQL, Python, and ETL tools
• Act as SME for distribution data and the firm’s data strategy and transformation efforts
• Document data flows, definitions, and participate in governance
• Lead agile planning with risk identification, prioritization, and sprint support
• Create dashboards/reports to monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights
• Mentor junior analysts and collaborate on data pipelines and analytics in agile settings
• Engage in ongoing learning and apply best practices in data management

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in data analysis, architecture and warehousing in a cloud environment
• Proven track record leading data projects with strategic impact
• Experience with agile methodologies and ceremonies; leading teams in agile environments
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data warehouse analysis (Databricks Delta Lake, Snowflake, Oracle, or MS SQL Server)
• Experience with data visualization/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to influence stakeholders and work in a client-first, team-oriented culture
• Prior experience in the financial services industry
