Principal / Associate Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will lead and shape transport and highway infrastructure delivery, guiding projects from feasibility to construction. You will work within the Transport Infrastructure team to drive sustainable, future-ready solutions across the UK, collaborating with cross-functional teams and developing client relationships. You will mentor engineers, manage project scopes and programmes, and support business growth and strategic objectives. This is a senior position that offers impact across projects, teams, and the wider organisation, with a focus on technical excellence and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of transportation and highway infrastructure projects
• Contribute to business development and growth opportunities
• Undertake complex technical, professional and commercial project activities
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams
• Manage medium-sized projects or multiple smaller ones with complex requirements
• Manage project scope, programme and commercial performance
• Act as a technical lead within your area of expertise
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships

Key requirements

• BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng, IEng or equivalent)
• Leading civil engineering design projects
• Detailed knowledge of highway design standards and delivery processes
