Overview
In this role you will design railway drainage and related civils, manage projects from conception to delivery, and collaborate with in-house engineers, contractors, and clients. You will perform site visits to verify compliance and quality, and support continuous improvement through standard-adherent practices. Chartered engineers will mentor juniors and help grow the team. This hybrid role offers remote work after six months and a clear path toward chartership and career advancement.

Responsibilities
- Design railway drainage systems and related minor civils works
- Support and manage projects from inception to completion within budget and timescales
- Collaborate with in-house engineers, external consultants, and clients to deliver effective solutions
- Conduct regular site visits to supervise works and ensure engineering standards
- Implement quality control procedures and ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Mentor junior engineers (for chartered engineers) and contribute to team development
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in drainage design (railway preferred; highways/water experience acceptable)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Micro Drainage
- Willingness to obtain PTS certification if not already held
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Willingness to conduct regular site visits
