Overview

In this role you will design and develop groundbreaking medical devices, collaborating with scientists and design specialists to translate concepts into lifesaving technology. You will work across fluid mechanics and biomedical engineering within a regulated, high-stakes environment. You will mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise while driving innovative solutions. Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and development of medical devices in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to build capability and ensure quality
  • Work with fluid mechanics and biomedical engineering to address complex design challenges
  • Create and optimize 3D CAD models using Pro-E and SolidWorks; adapt to other tools if needed
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory and industry standards in a highly regulated sector
  • Communicate design decisions and project progress with stakeholders
  • Translate concepts into manufacturable and testable solutions
  • Support qualification, validation, and verification activities for devices

Key requirements

  • Significant industry experience in medical devices or similar regulated field
  • Proficiency with Pro-E and SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD tools)
  • Strong background in mechanical design and fluids/biomedical engineering
  • Leadership or coaching experience with junior staff
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical or related field; PhD advantageous
