Overview

In this role you will lead as the customer advisory figure for UK defence, intelligence and policing, translating client needs into SAS-based value through software and cloud solutions. You will define technical strategy and guide multi-disciplinary teams in pursuit of opportunities, while owning the technical engagement with customers. You will partner with account teams to deliver high-impact experiences, including workshops, demonstrations and POCs, to illustrate SAS value. This role offers the chance to influence critical public sector outcomes through data and AI at scale, in a hybrid UK setting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the customer advisory lead for defence, intelligence and policing within the UK
  • Advise clients on creating business value via data, AI and analytics solutions
  • Serve as the primary technical contact between client and SAS, mapping business needs to SAS-based solutions
  • Define and execute the technical strategy in collaboration with the account team
  • Provide technical and pre-sales leadership for new opportunities, assembling cross-functional teams
  • Navigate complex customer situations using industry standards and client tech landscapes to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Deliver high-quality customer experiences and demonstrate SAS value through presentations, demos and POCs
  • Use domain knowledge to shape compelling visions and influence stakeholders, adapting messaging as needed

Key requirements

  • UK Security Clearance
  • Experience in a similar role (business partner relationships, sales, technical) in technology
  • Broad technical knowledge with understanding of enterprise architecture and standards
  • Passion for AI and its application to safety, health and fairness, with related topics preferred (data management, analytics, fraud detection, intelligence)
  • Good knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites; hands-on in workshops, requirements gathering and software demonstrations
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills
  • Desirable: MOD experience or UK policing background
