Overview
In this role, you will help deliver highway schemes from concept to construction within an integrated WSP / Norfolk County Council team. You’ll work on live projects that shape Norfolk’s transport network, collaborating with experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver highway schemes across the full lifecycle (feasibility, design through to construction)
- Produce high-quality engineering designs, technical documents, cost estimates and contract information
- Manage own projects/work packages to meet programme, budget and quality targets
- Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes
- Provide technical support and mentoring to technicians and junior staff while promoting safe, sustainable engineering solutions
Key requirements
- Experience delivering highway or civil engineering projects in consultancy, contractor, or local authority settings
- Knowledge of highway engineering principles, design standards and construction practices
- Experience using industry-standard design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTrack, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or similar)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
