Overview
In this role you will act as a senior technical advisor within a civil/structural engineering team, guiding studies and designs in your area of expertise. You will shape study procedures, review project deliverables, and contribute to proposals and tenders for Main Roads and major projects. You’ll lead technical quality checks, prepare specifications, and help plan budgets and schedules, coordinating across disciplines. Responsibilities
- Serve as technical advisor and provide specialized input for studies and designs in your area of expertise
- Develop study and design procedures to enable high-quality, cost-effective work by others
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Prepare project proposals and tenders for Main Roads Panel projects and Major Projects
- Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepare technical specification sections
- Provide input to engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Coordinate interdisciplinary work on projects
Key requirements
- 15+ years’ experience in highway and major infrastructure design
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) – Engineers Australia
- Proven track record leading multidisciplinary design teams in a consultancy environment
- Demonstrated experience with Main Roads WA projects and standards
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing capability
- Ability to provide clear technical direction and professional judgement
