Overview

In this EC&I Engineer role, you will help deliver a major ERF project from construction into operation, focusing on safe, reliable electrical, control and instrumentation systems. You join a cross-functional team to support long-term plant availability, asset value, and safety targets while driving maintenance and continuous improvement. You will gain hands-on experience across construction, commissioning and early operation phases, shaping the facility’s future performance. This is a growth opportunity to develop specialist skills in power generation, automation and industrial control within a high-impact project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical, control and instrumentation activities on site and coordinate with Mechanical Engineers
  • Plan and execute maintenance across the ERF plant to ensure reliability and availability
  • Manage stores and workshops to support maintenance activities and spares control
  • Drive continuous improvement across electrical, control and instrumentation domains
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues and foster high engineering standards
  • Ensure maintenance work is delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work

Key requirements

  • Knowledge of repair methods for electrical, control and instrumentation systems
  • Experience with Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work processes
  • Experience supervising teams and contractors to meet KPIs
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Engineering qualification such as an HNC or equivalent
  • Experience in Energy Recovery Facility, power generation, process plant, chemical, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments is advantageous
  • Experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA platforms is advantageous
  • Strong communication with stakeholders at all levels
