Overview

As Lead QA Engineer, you will shape the automated testing strategy and guide a QA team to deliver high‑quality software. You’ll design and maintain test automation for services and UI, leveraging Selenium and BDD with Cucumber, across Java/Python test suites in a CI/CD setup. You’ll collaborate with developers, product, and BAs to define robust test solutions and improve quality processes. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast‑growing fintech, offering impact through scalable QA architecture and cross‑functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests for Services & UI using Selenium
• Write automated tests with a BDD framework (Cucumber)
• Develop test solutions in Java and/or Python
• Work within CI/CD pipelines
• Lead a team of mid and senior QA engineers
• Design and implement QA automation architecture and best practices
• Collaborate with developers, product teams and BAs to define test solutions
• Define and implement test automation processes and best practices
• Ensure defects are raised in Jira and manage defects per process
• Maintain automated functional and regression tests aligned to scripting standards
• Apply software development lifecycle and testing process knowledge

Key requirements

• Experience with API testing frameworks such as REST Assured
• Proficient in Java and/or Python
• Experience using Cucumber and Gherkin
• Experience with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines)
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to mentor and guide teammates
