Overview
As a Remote Command Centre Operative, you monitor and remotely optimise building systems to reduce energy use and improve occupant comfort. You work with real-time BMS data, FDD platforms, and IoT telemetry to identify inefficiencies and support on-site teams. You’ll help ensure operational resilience and sustainability objectives are met through proactive interventions and data-driven reporting. This role offers impact across energy performance, system reliability, and continuous improvement in a technology-driven, 24/7 environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor BMS, HVAC, lighting and IoT systems for anomalies and risks
- Triage and resolve first-stage BMS issues, escalating as needed
- Log, prioritise and manage RCC service requests to meet SLAs
- Produce reports detailing interventions, actions, and closures with impact metrics
- Coordinate remote interventions and liaise with on-site teams and contractors
- Fine-tune FDD rules and support continuous commissioning and energy optimisation
- Assist with IoT device integration and telemetry management
- Contribute to RCC knowledge sharing and process improvements
- Maintain audit trails and ensure cybersecurity and change control compliance
Key requirements
- Experience monitoring, maintaining, or optimising BMS/HVAC systems
- Experience in a Remote Command Centre or similar environment
- Ability to analyse building performance data and identify inefficiencies
- Familiarity with IoT deployment and telemetry
- Understanding of energy efficiency principles and sustainability frameworks
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams
- Foundational knowledge of health & safety legislation as it relates to properties
- Exposure to smart building platforms and analytics
