Overview

In this role you will drive engine and automatic transmission component development and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet ambitious programme milestones. You’ll act as a key interface among customers, suppliers, and design/test teams, ensuring robust engineering solutions from concept to production. You will tackle validation, reliability, and change management, delivering high-quality, timely outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Lead component development activities for engine and/or automatic transmission programmes
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams to deliver objectives, timing plans and milestones
  • Support design reviews and ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Manage suppliers and track delivery through development lifecycle
  • Define and coordinate validation and durability test programmes at component, subsystem and vehicle level
  • Analyze test results and drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Prepare technical reports and present recommendations to customers and stakeholders
  • Manage engineering changes, risk assessments and product maturity reviews
  • Support prototype builds and production readiness assessments
  • Coordinate component sign-off and release parts into production
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety and programme management processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and share engineering best practices

Key requirements

  • Typically 3+ years in automotive product development
  • Experience with conventional powertrain systems (engines and/or automatic transmissions)
  • Strong understanding of engineering development processes, validation and production release
  • Experience with automotive suppliers and customer engineering teams
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and manage project deliverables in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Proactive and professional communicator
  • Strong team player with ability to influence stakeholders at different levels
  • Ownership mindset with focus on quality, delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of automotive product development methodologies and APQP processes
  • Experience with CAD review processes, engineering drawings and GD&T
