Underwriter – Real Estate

Overview

In this role you will assess and underwrite a diverse Real Estate portfolio within a collaborative team. You’ll work with brokers and colleagues to deliver excellent service while applying underwriting guidelines and risk assessment to drive profitable growth. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with brokers and internal stakeholders to deliver a superior service experience
• Assess and underwrite new and existing Real Estate risks in line with guidelines and authority levels
• Support portfolio development and quotation management, including renewals and term negotiation
• Ensure accurate, compliant policy administration, documentation, and day-to-day broker support

Key requirements

• Previous underwriting experience in Property/Real Estate or related lines
• Solid understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and insurance products
• Ability to analyze complex information and make sound underwriting decisions
• Strong relationship-building with brokers, insurers, clients, and internal teams
• Commercial awareness of portfolio performance and market dynamics
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Proactive, independent work style with team contribution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Progress towards or willingness to study professional qualifications (e.g., CII) would be advantageous
