Senior Process Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Process Engineer at Ipsen Wrexham, you will lead process engineering for major capital projects, delivering safe and efficient solutions from concept to handover. You will act as the process engineering SME, guiding engineers and coordinating across cross-functional teams to unlock project value. You’ll drive design innovation, evaluate new technologies, and embed GMP, EHS, and regulatory standards throughout the lifecycle. This role offers high-impact, site-scale opportunity to shape manufacturing capabilities and support patient-focused growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering for major capital projects from concept through handover, delivering safe and compliant solutions
• Act as process engineering SME, providing oversight and technical guidance across major capital projects
• Drive process design and innovation by evaluating new technologies to improve performance, efficiency and reliability
• Ensure GMP, EHS and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage scope, timelines and budgets, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Support commissioning, qualification and operational readiness for smooth manufacturing transition

Key requirements

• Strong experience leading process engineering delivery in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotech or life sciences environment
• Deep knowledge of process design, equipment and facilities, with strong cGMP and regulatory understanding
• Proven ability to lead complex capital projects or process changes balancing safety, compliance, cost and delivery
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with credibility to guide teams and partners
• Continuous improvement mindset with drive to challenge existing ways of working and deliver better engineering outcomes
