Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead and shape civil infrastructure projects for developer clients across the UK. You’ll guide projects from feasibility to delivery, manage teams and budgets, and nurture client relations to drive repeat business. You’ll collaborate with planners, architects, and specialists to deliver cohesive, sustainable solutions and champion technical excellence. Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance across all project stages from feasibility to delivery and approvals
• Oversee project teams, resources, and budgets to meet scope, time, and standards
• Build and nurture relationships with clients, stakeholders, and authorities
• Support and develop junior colleagues, promoting continuous learning and technical excellence
• Identify opportunities for repeat business and contribute to work-winning
• Collaborate with planners, architects, and other professionals to deliver interdisciplinary solutions

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering; Chartered status desirable
• Proven civil infrastructure design and project delivery experience in a consultancy
• Excellent communication, analytical, and IT skills; ability to present ideas and build rapport
• Solid knowledge of standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, CIRIA SuDS) and software (CAD, Autotrack, MicroDrainage, Flow)
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and mentor others
• Commercial awareness and proactive problem-solving
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
