Overview

As a Business Analyst in Capco’s Commercial & Specialty Insurance practice, you drive strategic, technology-enabled transformation across underwriting, claims, and policy administration. You’ll work with insurers in Property, Liability, Marine, Energy, and other specialty lines to map current processes, capture requirements, and support target designs. From discovery to delivery and benefits realisation, you enable change across the insurance value chain. This role offers collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and exposure to modern transformation methods in financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support business analysis activities from discovery to implementation within insurance transformation programmes
  • Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements using structured techniques
  • Perform current state analysis including process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessment across underwriting, claims, and policy administration
  • Support design of target operating models and future state processes aligned to business objectives
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather requirements and validate solutions
  • Translate business needs into delivery artefacts such as user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria
  • Support delivery activities including backlog management, testing, UAT coordination, and change impact assessment
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, digital enablement, and operational efficiency improvements

Key requirements

  • Strong BA experience in Commercial or Specialty Insurance, including London Market or corporate environments
  • Knowledge of Specialty lines (Property, Liability, Marine, Energy)
  • Proven skills in requirements gathering, process modelling, and transformation support
  • Ability to bridge business and technology stakeholders and translate complex requirements into actionable outputs
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Structured analytical thinking with experience using BA tools and techniques (e.g. BPMN, user stories, data analysis)
