Senior Structural Engineer – Water Industry

Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer in our Water Team, you will design and review structural elements for water and wastewater assets from concept to construction. You will collaborate with clients and AECOM colleagues to secure buy-in and contribute to our technical capability and innovation. You will ensure high-quality deliverables, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor junior staff. This role combines technical leadership with the opportunity to shape impactful water infrastructure and community outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and review structural elements for water and wastewater assets from concept to construction
• Collaborate with clients and AECOM counterparts to gain consensus and share expertise
• Produce and review calculations, drawings, and technical reports to standards
• Deliver projects within budget and programme, supporting planning and budgeting
• Explore innovative methods and forward-thinking approaches
• Delegate, supervise, and mentor junior staff

Key requirements

• Civil or Structural Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
• Experience in structural analysis and design, especially reinforced concrete and steelwork
• Experience with BIM and 3D design tools
• Membership or progression toward ICE or IStructE
