Overview
In this role you will lead complex engineering projects from early phase to detailed design, working within a project management team to deliver on client expectations. You will advise on-site, review subcontractor designs, and manage budgets, schedules and stakeholder relationships. You’ll contribute to HSE compliance and participate in hazard reviews to ensure safe, compliant delivery. This position combines hands-on engineering with project leadership in the cleantech and renewable energy sector, offering strong career progression and exposure to global scale initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Manage projects from conception through detailed engineering completion
- Collaborate within the project management team
- Provide on-site technical advice and project leadership to clients
- Review subcontractor designs for client specification compliance
- Prepare budget estimates and cash flow projections
- Plan, schedule, and monitor progress of engineering work
- Maintain relationships with project stakeholders
- Ensure HSE issues are managed per client policies
- Produce progress reports and lead client/internal meetings
- Review project deliverables (drawings, datasheets, specifications)
- Provide input for engineering design in line with client expectations
- Contribute to HAZOP/HAZIDs activities
Key requirements
- Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline
- Chartered status desired but not essential
- Experience on design projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy
- Experience in Energy from Waste or related major energy sectors advantageous
- Site experience in combination with a design background beneficial
