Overview

As Area Manager in Amazon’s Operations, you ensure your site runs safely, efficiently, and with high quality to meet customer demand. You lead a team within the Reliability Maintenance Engineering group, driving safety culture, productivity projects, and performance development. You analyze shifts, streamline processes, and collaborate with leadership to standardise practices. You will base at a site, guide data-driven improvements, and pioneer new projects including maintenance and automation initiatives. This role offers the chance to influence site performance and deploy innovative technology to reduce downtime across fulfilment networks.

Responsibilities

  • Create, oversee and promote a safety and wellbeing culture
  • Analyse and implement changes to sustain high quality and productivity
  • Manage projects to streamline processes and improve customer service quality
  • Monitor shift performance against business goals and drive operational excellence actions
  • Collaborate with management to standardise shift practices
  • Lead and develop your team, including organising training and performance management
  • Guide site operations in a fast-paced environment and solve problems with data
  • Plan and initiate new projects to enhance processes and equipment maintenance

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering
  • People management experience
  • Experience communicating with a broad range of stakeholders including peers and leadership
  • Experience using data or evidence to influence business decisions
  • Proficiency in English and local language (verbal and written)
