Overview

In this role you will develop and deploy AI-powered solutions within a fast-paced startup setting, focusing on retail and healthcare use cases. You’ll work on scalable models and data-driven decision support, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to turn research into deployable AI. The position offers the chance to shape how AI is applied across industries and contribute to impactful, real-world outcomes. Nottingham-based, part-time presence (2 days/week) with a strong emphasis on practical impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning models using Python and SQL
• Manipulate and analyze data to support model development and decision-making
• Collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment to translate research into deployable AI systems
• Contribute to retail-focused AI applications (promotions, pricing, forecasting) and healthcare AI projects
• Work cross-functionally to scale AI solutions across industries

Key requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Solid SQL and data manipulation capabilities
• Background in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science (MSc or PhD preferred)
• Experience building or deploying machine learning models
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment
