Overview

In this role you deliver high-quality safety consultancy across complex, highly regulated nuclear projects. You will author and review nuclear safety documentation, supporting regulatory compliance within multidisciplinary teams. You’ll develop rigorous safety arguments and verify documentation quality, liaising with clients and internal stakeholders to track progress and governance. The position offers collaboration with engineers and specialists, contributing to business growth and delivering on time and to a high standard. Responsibilities

  • Deliver safety consultancy across lifecycle for complex projects
  • Produce and lead development of nuclear safety documentation
  • Provide safety advice within multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop robust safety arguments to support safety cases and compliance
  • Technical checking and verification of documentation
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to manage progress
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across projects
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities
  • Deliver work to timescales and budgets with high technical excellence and customer service

Key requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a highly regulated industry (nuclear, defence, aerospace, rail, oil & gas, chemicals or pharmaceuticals)
  • Experience producing or supporting complex safety cases or regulatory submissions
  • Understanding of safety case production, risk assessment methodologies, regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in decommissioning, optioneering, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing/regulatory compliance, waste management, process or functional safety (advantageous)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical information to diverse stakeholders
  • UK National Security Vetting Status – ability to gain SC clearance
