Software Engineer – Liverpool (Hybrid)

Up to £70,000 + Benefits

The Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join a growing product and technology team, helping build and enhance modern software solutions within a cloud-first environment. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with Product, QA, and fellow Engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that provide real value to customers. You’ll be involved from design and development through to testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

Working within a modern Azure environment, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to technical decisions, improve development processes, and help deliver scalable, reliable software. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and taking ownership of their work while continuously developing their technical skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing clean, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions
  • Working closely with Product Owners, Testers, and Engineers to turn requirements into technical solutions
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to delivery planning
  • Writing unit and contract tests to ensure quality and reliability
  • Supporting and enhancing existing applications, including troubleshooting issues when required
  • Developing infrastructure-as-code and contributing to CI/CD practices
  • Helping improve engineering processes, tools, and ways of working
  • Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation

Technology Environment

You’ll be working with technologies including:

  • C#
  • Terraform
  • Git
  • REST APIs
  • Event-driven and message-driven architectures
  • SQL and NoSQL databases

What You Bring

  • Experience working with Azure cloud services
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
  • Experience building or supporting RESTful services and event-driven systems
  • Good understanding of modern software engineering principles, including SOLID and Agile development practices
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD delivery
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Nice to Have

  • Experience with performance or load testing
